product description
NOM shaving brush with boar bristles and a handle made of stained ash wood. Boar bristles are harder than badger hair but provide the most massaging effect when shaving. Ideal in combination with our hard soaps.
The diameter of the knot is 19mm. Made in Germany. Type NOM THEO 41 GA.
Boar bristle brushes are cheaper than badger ones. They don't hold as much water as badger brushes, but the thicker and stiffer nature of the bristles gives them a massaging effect. It takes more effort to create a creamy lather than badger hair. They are ideal for use with harsh shaving soaps. The lower water holding capacity can be partially compensated by a brush with longer boar bristles. Due to its greater hardness, it may not be suitable for men with sensitive skin. On the other hand, they are the best at removing dead skin and impurities.
Shave brush function: A brush is needed for wet shaving using soap. Thanks to the brush, you whip up the foam - the more water the hair of the brush holds, the richer the foam will be. The correct consistency of foam is necessary for good glide of the razor. The brush helps to soften the beard and lift it before shaving. It also removes dead skin cells, oil and dirt.
Wet shaving, thanks to the interplay of foam from quality soap, brush and razor, allows a smooth shave with minimal irritation and supple skin.
